muse, i listen

muse, i listen
you speak in subtones
in quieter times
anywhere quiet enough for me to hear
I have to think about your voice;

find it underneath the routine noise of dull concern
that voice is primordial

echoes off the walls of the cave of my creativity
or carves through the rock
shaking the still air

muse, i listen
