ode to certainty
I'd like to
be sure and steady,
devoted (singleminded)
I think it might allow me to build upon
the finished floors below
aggregate (not aggravate)
I suppose I
could use
the thrust of certainty
to carry me one more floor
in increments of surety
and after I
rest,maybe I will
find solace in the
continuity of height and view and
purpose; vistas of rectitude
That's all well
and good
in a vertical structure;
What if the verticality of my truths
tilts
and certainty
build a tower that like Babel
must collapse of its own rigidity?
